Whoa! That is crazy interesting...in a good way.

The photo is in the shape of an eye and it reminds me of how one perception is really built through a lot of little pieces. Nice :)

It is the view from inside of the cave as 372,000 bats are flying out!

I thought this might give some idea of this bat flight thing that I am talking about all the time. I am on again tonight or I really should say that they are on--I am just the warm up.

That is gorgeous! I do love it. Too bad so many people don't like things such as bats and snakes. They are interesting and necessary to the ecosystem. Love this shot.

Ooooooooooh! My skin is crawling!
Bats kind of freak me out, if you couldn't tell. They are rodents with wings. They carry rabies!!! I will be squirming in my sleep tonight thanks to you.

What an amazing picture but I have to agree with Gulnaz, I will be scared to be anywhere near.

Actually to dispell any myths----Bats are very clean.
They clean themselves more than your cat!
Less than 1% have rabbies and if you don't touch one you wont get rabbies.
They are more like us than rats. They have hair, teeth, eyes, give birth to live babies and nurse them.
Bats are not blind
They are the number 1 reforester of rainfirests.
If you like tequilla, mangos, avacados, cashews, figs or dates they are the main pollinators.

DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU SEE IN THE MOVIES.

Lorena,
Yes they can fly right over your head. But they do not fly in anyones hair. In China they are seen as a symbol of good luck. Without them there would be so many more insects. We owe then a lot.

Thanks for giving me some reasons to think differently about bats. They still make me nervous, but I'm sure they are fascinating animals.

Reminds me of a society's D-Day, or its salvation.
